Head trauma (motor vehicle accidents, falls, sports injuries)
Inner ear infections
Illness or disease
Aging
Certain medications
Concussion
BPPV
BPPV is the most common cause of vertigo (the sensation that the world is spinning). It’s usually set off by specific head movements such as:
Rolling over in bed, often with one side being worse
Getting into/out of bed
Bending over
Tipping your head back to look up
Quick head movement
If BPPV is present , a series of gentle head movements (Epley Maneuver ) can usually resolve the problem immediately.
